Overview
Farewell Plans is a single-record form where you can set out your preferences for your final arrangements, including the type of service, burial or cremation wishes, special instructions, and who you would like to be invited. Recording your wishes here removes uncertainty for your loved ones and ensures the people responsible for your arrangements have clear guidance to follow.
You can share this information now with trusted individuals, such as family members, to support collaborative planning and ensure your wishes are honoured smoothly when the time comes.
All details are safeguarded with advanced encryption and row-level security, ensuring privacy and access solely for you or those you authorise.
A Pre-Paid Funeral Plan is a financial arrangement that allows you to pay for your funeral in advance, locking in today’s prices and relieving your loved ones of the financial and organisational burden later. These plans typically cover key costs such as the funeral director’s services, coffin, and cremation or burial fees, depending on what is included.
Having a plan in place protects your family from making difficult decisions at an emotional time and ensures they are not left with unexpected expenses. If you have a plan, recording the provider name and reference number here means your executor can locate it quickly and without having to search through paperwork.
If you do not yet have a pre-paid plan, you can leave this field blank and return to fill it in at any time. Your other Farewell Plans details will be saved independently.
Recording your wishes is a valuable first step, but sharing them with those closest to you avoids surprises and makes the process much smoother. Consider discussing your preferences with a family member or trusted friend so they know what to expect and can advocate on your behalf.
Type of Funeral. The style of service you would prefer, such as a religious ceremony, civil ceremony, celebration of life, or no formal service at all.
Type of Burial. Your preferred method of disposition, such as burial, cremation, natural burial, or any other arrangement.
Special Instructions. Any specific wishes for the ceremony, such as preferred music, readings, a particular person to deliver a eulogy, a dress code, the location, flowers, or any other personal requests you would like honoured.
Pre Paid Funeral Plan (if any). If you have a pre-paid funeral plan in place, enter the provider name, plan reference number, and any other relevant details. This allows your executor to locate and activate the plan without delay.
Invite. The people you would like to be notified and invited to your ceremony. Select from your existing contacts to build your invite list.
Reminder. Set an optional reminder for your farewell plan, with its own title, a short note, a date, and how often it should repeat (once, weekly, monthly, and so on). You can switch the reminder on or off at any time.
Attach Document / Photo / Video. Attach supporting files to your farewell plan, such as an order of service, a favourite piece of music, or a photo. You can upload from your device or pull a file straight from your Digital Vault.
